Special homes need special tactics
Friday, June 1st, 2007Prime rib, cold shrimp and dainty cocktail nibbles lined a buffet spread at the San Antonio Country Club on a recent spring evening.Liquor, beer and wine flowed at an open bar, and there was none of the cheap stuff.
This chi-chi party was not for a wedding, bar mitzvah or any kind of celebration, really. It was a real estate sales pitch.
And the seller, Wade Dokken, isn’t a real estate broker. He’s a millionaire.
Dokken came to San Antonio in April to pitch Ameya Preserve, an 11,000-acre development near Bozeman, Mont., that is focused on nature, science, music, art and gourmet cooking as amenities. It will include 301 homes priced between $650,000 and $2.5 million.
